"You just get the best idea to the wrong guy." —Lewis just before killing Vanderheyden

Andy Lewis is a budding serial killer appearing in Command+P in CSI:NY.

History

After a failed marriage from his wife leaving him for another man, one night while drinking, Lewis was approached by Justin Vanderheyden, a young engineer meaning to meet another Andy at the bar, entrepreneur Andy Stein. Mistaking Andy Lewis, just by asking his first name, he told Lewis about his plans for 3d-printed guns to change the course of the control over weapons between international governments, even bringing him back to his lab to demonstrate. There was no concern about ballistics, as the smooth plastic used to print the guns just had the bullet glide out of the barrel without scraping the inside. Lewis, simply excited by the invention, wanted to keep it for himself, revealing he's the wrong Andy Vanderheyden was trying to find, before shooting him dead with his own printed revolver. To get his own revenge, Lewis then went after Richard Kemp, the other man in his wife's affair, shooting him dead in his office. In that shooting, the revolver could take little more and burst from the last shot, causing Lewis' hands to be shredded and burned from the explosion. The CSIs eventually caught onto the motives and connections, then chased after Lewis when he was printing more guns, Lewis not being able to run far because of his injuries. Lewis was promptly arrested and incarcerated once giving a full confession in interrogation.

Modus Operandi

Lewis killed each man he murdered with two shots from the 3d-printed guns his first victim, Vanderheyden, designed. Vanderheyden was killed to steal the blueprints and cover Lewis' tracks, while Kemp was murdered out of revenge for stealing Lewis' wife. In Kemp's shooting, the gun burst from the force of shots being too much for the revolver after a while.

Known Victims

  • Justin Vanderheyden (shot twice in his torso)
  • Richard Kemp (shot twice in his chest and head; the gun burst from the shots as a result)
