Blood Brothers is the first episode in season two of CSI: Miami.

Synopsis

A young model is intentionally run down outside a Miami hotel, but as the investigation gets under way, it is found that the perpetrators have diplomatic immunity.

Plot

This and a second death are connected to the Cruz Brothers, Ramon and Clavo, Clavo killed the first woman because Ramon had accidentally murdered her roomate during sex in a pool. However Horatio is unable to arrest them because both are the children of Baracan's Ambassador General Antonio Cruz and thus have diplomatic immunity. Fortunately samples from the second victim lungs match Canada's Embassy pool water, meaning that technically the murder was on the soil of a country the immunity does not apply since the victim was also canadian. Horatio them arrests Ramon after the brothers drive their boat in international waters and Ramon is sent to prison in the Bahamas because he sailed under the Bohemian flag.Though unable to arrest Clavo for his crime Horatio warns he will on the lookout for him.

Major Events

  • Lab tech Maxine Valera and IAB officer Rick Stetler are both introduced for the first time.
  • Michelle Cormier's murder appears heavily derived from the case against Robert Chambers, a socialite having killed a woman and used the "rough sex defense" in a failed attempt for a reduced sentence in court.
