|First Appearance||Getting Off|
Detective Chris Cavaliere works for the Las Vegas Police Department. He is portrayed by José Zúniga.
Detective Cavaliere is a rough detective who once went so far as to scare a child into confession for the murder of his brother, a move that had him clashing with CSI Nick Stokes although it was later proved to be true Nick refused to apologise to Cavaliere for what had happened because of Cavaliere's behaviour.
He sometimes takes pictures of bizarrely murdered people for a scrapbook such as a deceased clown left undressed in a tire.
After a boy is killed in his own home, Detective Cavaliere shows empathy towards the parents and believes them to be innocent of wrong-doing, despite their being no evidence either way at that point. He tells Nick that he knows their grief is not an act and he knows this because of "years of listening to the parents of dead children". Conversely he goes very hard on the boys brother, accusing him of the murder before any evidence at all has been analysed. Nick questions his choice to go so hard on the boy, and the two have a tense conversation. Cavaliere gets the boy to confess, but Nick believes that the detective intimidated the boy into confessing so he pursues another suspect, Cavaliere is initially upset with Nick for this. When the evidence proves that the brother did it, Cavaliere tells Nick that he owes him an apology, Nick tells him "I'm sorry...that you feel that way."
Cavaliere was injured after lifting a picture rigged to an explosive device.
Cavaliere's name was later seen on a list of cops that slept with Officer Anne-Marie Tolsom.
