Trivia[]
- Interestingly, this gang has many similarities to another notorious and infamous criminal organization in the criminal TV series world, the Blake Association (from The Mentalist):
- Both are composed entirely of law figures (The Jeffrey McKeen gang is made up of members of the Las Vegas Police Department, while the Blake Association is made up of members of the California State Police, CBI and even the FBI, including powerful judges among its members);
- The gang leader is or was a powerful and influential police officer (Jeffrey McKeen was the Undersheriff of the Las Vegas Police, while Blake Association leader Sheriff Thomas "Tom" McAllister (aka the infamous serial killer Red John) was the sheriff of Napa County, California);
- both gangs had important members killed by law enforcement officers belonging to the main team of their respective series (Michael Crenshaw was murdered by Carlos Moreno and the Blake Association leader Red John and his right hand, Detective Oscar Cordero were killed by Patrick Jane, the protagonist of The Mentalist and member of of the main team of the CBI and the series The Mentalist);
- the reason that caused the fall of both gangs (ie the end of both gangs) is similar: the murder of important figures for the protagonists of both series, who caused the investigation and the end of both (Warrick Brown for the Las Vegas Crime Lab in CSI:Crime Scene Investigation and the Patrick Jane's family and Lorelei Martins for Patrick Jane in The Mentalist) and the most important;
- both gangs had at least two or three important survivors who were arrested at the end of that investigation against the gangs (Jeffrey McKeen and Paul Kimball for CSI:Crime Scene Investigation and Reede Smith, Paul Wiehagen, and Brenda Shettrick for The Mentalist)
- Interestingly, the main antagonist of The Mentalist, Sheriff Thomas "Tom" McAllister (aka the infamous serial killer Red John) is played by Xander Berkeley, who also played a sheriff in CSI (Rory Atwater).
