Money for Nothing is the seventeenth episode in Season Two of CSI: Miami.
Synopsis[]
Horatio is quick on the scene when an armored truck carrying $3.2 million is robbed in a daring downtown heist.
Plot[]
Horatio's sharp-shooting helps the case after he lands a bullet in the getaway vehicle's fuel tank, though the original robber is soon arrested money analysis proves it's all fake but that there was real money before. Realizing there was no time for the first robber to make the switch Horatio confronts the truck driver, Paul Dolan, he confesses but reveals his motive was the kidnapping of his sister Mary. Using evidence from the robbery the team tracks down Mary's kidnappers only to discover a pool of blood, Horatio is suspicious of this and further analysis of the blood makes a twist on the case: there were anticoagulants on the blood, proving it was willing drawn and that Mary is an accomplice not a victim. The team is able to track her down just as she's trying to flee the country with her boyfriend. The episode ends with Horatio comforting a disillusioned Paul.
