Edward Bridge "Ted" Danson III is an American actor, author and producer. He portrays night shift supervisor D.B. Russell on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Danson has won several Emmy awards, Golden Globe Awards and a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame for his acting work. He currently portrayed as Michael in NBC comedy-fantasy series The Good Place.
Ted Danson was born in San Diego, California. After his college years, he soon became interested in drama at Stanford University and yearned to become an actor.
He also has an extensive early Colonial American ancestry, being the direct descendant of three Mayflower pilgrims, three colonial governors, a famous Indian fighter. He also has a direct link to the historic Puritan leader Anne Hutchinson who in turn is a direct descendant of the ancient European emperor Charlemagne and other historic English royalty.
Danson began his television career on a T.V called, Somerset. He made a number of small appearances in televisions, including spots on Laverne and Shirley; B.J and the Bear; Family; Benson; Taxi; Magnum P.I.; and Tucker.
Danson was cast in his most famous role in a new T.V show called Cheers. His character was called Sam Malone and it was soon to become one of Danson's most iconic roles. The show ran from 1982 till 1993 and it has won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Glode Award. The show was very well accepted by the audience and the critics.
Since this, Danson has appeared in many successful TV Dramas such as Something About Amelia and Damages, Glenn Close. He won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries for that role. He has also starred as the main role is several TV Dramas, winning awards in the process.
In 2015 Danson joined as Michael in the NBC fantasy-comedy series The Good Place premiered on September 2016.
