Ted Hester is a budding serial killer, proxy killer, stalker, and criminal accomplice who blackmailed and manipulated people into killing who appeared in Season Two of CSI: Vegas. He made himself a major enemy of the CSI team, specifically to Allie Rajan, as he nearly had Sonya Nikolayevich killed.

Background[]

As a child, Hester made several brutal drawings, one of which was of a man hanging and bloodied. After his grandmother found out, she sent Hester to Dr. Diane Auerbach. However, her methods didn't work, and he eventually murdered his grandmother by hitting her in the head. He then buried her body in a shallow grave at Auberbach's house, with her fully unaware of his actions. Believing that death literally lived inside him, he wanted to "cull the rotten fruit" by having people killed. He manipulated or blackmailed people who were patients of Auerbach, most of them who had severe mental problems or backstories of abuse. His goal was to make a serial killer, something he imagined, but was never able to personally do. One of the people was Ronald Edward Winter, whom he met on Shadow Cell after realizing his plan of mass murder, and was convinced to help with Hester's crimes. Another was Richard Sloan, whom he also met on the game and blackmailed into targeting Lamont Moore, a man whom Hester tried to blackmail into killing Albert Santoni.

Las Vegas: Season One[]

"Signed, Sealed, Delivered"[]

A man (Ronald) sits on the couch in a white room full of white furniture. He listens to the television, which talks about three dead people, making the world believe that there is a serial killer on the loose. Ronald, who also has gloves on, then draws on the cover of his notebook.

Las Vegas: Season Two[]

"She's Gone"[]

A man named Alan Herskovitz breaks into the house of a dominatrix named Lynn Zorbrist, a woman he paid for services to. They struggle, causing her to be stabbed in the throat with a piece of glass. Afterwards, the scene is staged, and Alan destroys a piece of furniture that would have proved his guilt. When her body is found on the floor a few hours later, the Crime Scene Investigation investigates, with much of the furniture being arranged differently. They are led to the victim’s psychiatrist, Diane Auerbach, who leads them to Zorbrist’s clients. Alan is one of the suspects in the homicide and is unable to control the urge to scratch his arms. He is eventually pinned, and when they get to his home, they find images of a man being stalked. While this is happening, Herskovitz rushes to Moore’s house and attempts to kill him. However, this is interrupted by the police and Alan gets away after nearly shooting the officer chasing him. While at a hospital, he gets out of his bed and spins, taking a nurse hostage. Fortunately, he gives up, though he gives a random psychotic speech

"There's the Rub"[]

When a man is found murdered, the investigation leads to Santoni, the confirmed killer of Dario Donnely, who commits suicide while in a struggle with the police.
