Dr. Vincent Lurie is a budding serial killer appearing in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "Butterflied".
History[]
Lurie was a doctor at the Desert Palm Hospital, taking Rogaine and Propecia for his pattern baldness. Little else is known about him, except he dated nurse Debbie Marlin, but then she left him for another physician, Dr. Michael Clark. Lurie snapped and broke into Debbie's house and cut her throat in her shower, posing her body to degrade her. Lurie then cut Michael's throat out of jealousy, but went further and spent hours viciously butchering Michael's remains and placing them in trash bags in Debbie's bins. After exhaustive investigation, Laurie was identified due to the evidence of his dominant hand and the medicine he used. He was interrogated, but he only admitted or fitting the description of the killer without confessing. Little evidence was against him, so Grissom tried to make Lurie confess by saying the two were alike: workaholics who want a woman in their lives, which Lurie dared to have, only to lose the woman he loved. Lurie didn’t budge, and he walked a free man.
Modus Operandi[]
Lurie targeted Debbie and Michael as revenge for ruining his relationship with Debbie. Lurie started by forcing Debbie to kneel in her shower, cutting her throat with a scalpel, and posing her kneeling and face down on the shower floor to dehumanize her. Lurie cut Michael's throat, then spent a dozen hours dismembering Michael with numerous scalpels and leaving Michael's shredded remains in trash bags with Debbie's garbage. He also tore apart a butterfly bracelet he gave Debbie as a present, ending with cleaning the scene before he left.
